You might think it common sense that UUs should be allowed to openly discuss in the UU World Magazine their views about the proposed Article II. Spokes persons for the supporters, and for those opposed to this major re-write of our faith, could lay out their arguments so everyone could weigh the evidence. Of course, the UUA is not allowing this to happen. Could it be they don’t have faith that UUs, engaged in a truly open, democratic debate, could make a good decision?

Rev. Jerry Kerr is a graduate of Duke Divinity School and also attended the UU Starr King School where he met his wife, and now co-minister at the UU Congregation of Flint, Lynn Mikula Kerr. Jerry recently served as assistant minister with Lynn in Bowling Green, Ohio and also worked in HIV/AIDS prevention for a total of 19 years in Toledo, Ohio and Boston, Massachusetts. Jerry is the founder of the Toledo-based “Northwest Ohio Syringe Services” that serves injection drug users as people with inherent worth and dignity.
